Hello, my friends!

My name is Micki and I’m so happy to see you on my blog, Front Porch Ponderings.

I started this blog because I’m at a season in my life where my husband and I will soon be empty nesters and I wanted a way to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years with others. In my blog, you’ll find information about homemaking, parenting, homeschooling, organizing, scheduling, suburban homesteading, crafting, woodworking, and even some info on building a small business similar to what I’m doing. My goal is to help you increase your knowledge each time you come for a visit so that when you leave you will have the motivation and inspiration to make things happen in your own home and life!

When I’m not writing on my blog here, the self-care things I enjoy are reading and listening to audiobooks, working on Diamond Dot paintings, coloring adult coloring pages, cross stitching, drawing, painting, crafting items for our woodworking business, or just having a self-care day with my friends. I also love hanging out with my husband of 27 years (April 2024) while we float along the Potomac River in our canoe while he fishes and I “try” to read one of my books (most of the time I’m steering us close to and away from the bank of the rivers so he doesn’t get his line snagged up). I also enjoy hanging out with my wonderful husband in our garden and our kitchen preserving our bountiful harvest whether it be water bath canning, pressure canning, dehydrating, freezing, or whatever preservation method is happening. Other times my husband and I just enjoy watching a movie or sitcom while enjoying each other’s company.<div>Again, I’m so happy to see you stop by Front Porch Ponderings!
